Golden Money Boy He lived next door to my best friend At night swept up tickets at the track Sometimes he’d find discarded winners My friend and I wanted a job like that One night he came home wearing a suit and looking like a king Said he bought a share in a horse and it might be the real thing… Check the paper for Golden Money Boy See if he’s racing at the Meadowlands tonight Save your allowance and roll up your loose coins Everybody’s kicking in, let’s go along for the ride We stopped buying candy and soda And sold all our baseball cards to friends Week after week we kicked in our money But damn that horse would never much contend Finally one race he came in 3rd, it felt like the grand prize We took our winnings into town and splurged on RC and Scooter Pies Next day there was our neighbor Riding in a brand new Cadillac Said he sold his share of that fine horse And he’s back sweeping tickets at the track My friend and I still save our money and plan our get-rich schemes Sometimes it’s good to be the king, even if just in your wildest dreams

Last Two Weeks of August (Summer’s Not Over) That was the slow time at the showroom So Dad could take those two weeks off We’d head to the Cape every year to the same Cottage #5 at Colonial Acres For those two weeks it was like our second home Summer’s not over, summer’s not over We’ve got the last two weeks of August Summer’s not over…. We’d head to Mildred’s for some chowder To Fruitland for some Bunny Bread and milk It was the one time a year we’d get all kinds of treats Drive-in movies, mini golf, and sweets Barefoot Trader for a souvenir We'd take a ride into Hyannis Buy the New York News for Dad We’re walking the streets where JFK Had his summer retreat back in Camelot days But right now this is our town Summer’s not over, summer’s not over We’ve got the last two weeks of August Summer’s not over…. Let’s see what’s happening at the Cooney's That crazy wild family in Cottage 8 You got the girls heading to the pool Pickle and Pete making wiffle ball rules While Mr Cooney mixed a drink for Dad The lazy days would find their rhythm The August sunsets pretty soon start to fade We'd pack the car on the final night For a pre-dawn start and a last goodbye Summertimes would never be the same Summer’s not over, summer’s not over We’ve got the last two weeks of August Summer’s not over…. Summer’s not over, summer’s not over We’ve got the last two weeks of August Summer’s not over….

All the Lives We Ever Lived I heard you in the darkness call my name one last time It reminded me of childhood memories etched into my mind Fever chills, I’d mouth your name and hope that you would hear With nothing but a whispered sigh, you suddenly appeared The dreams and fears that drove me to your bed for comforting Some inner peace that made the world seem less frightening In those subtle moments my character was formed The solitaire I am today was both conceived and born The quiet nights, your crossword puzzles and me with a new book Well aware of what’s inside you and the ticking of the clock But I can’t interrupt the silence without breaking our bond We're never meant to break the surface of this placid pond “And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be Are full of trees and changing leaves” in perpetuity And can you for a moment feel that light within your heart? And capture that serenity that sets your life apart? All the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be All the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be All the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be...
